James Richard "Jimmy" Wilson

James Richard “Jimmy” Wilson, 51, of Herrin and formerly of Carterville, died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Heartland Regional Medical Center. 

Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating.  Visitation will be held from noon till the time of the service. 

Memorial contributions can be made to his family to offset funeral expenses. 

James was born on September 15, 1971, in St. Charles, Missouri, to James Alex and Judy Grace (Chapman) Wilson. 

He is survived by his mother, Judy Wilson of Herrin; brother, Ron Wilson of Herrin; long time girlfriend, Tammy McKay and her children Mandy and Elizabeth; grandchildren, T.J., Bailey, Aria, and Zach; cousin, Josh and Amy Chapman; aunts, Nancy Schroeder and Phyllis Van Meter; and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father.

James worked as a truck driver for many years. 

James enjoyed being outdoors fishing and spending time with his family.
