James “Jim” D. Rosenberger, 68, of Carterville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
Jim was born on May 19, 1957, in Herrin, to Betty J. (Tregoning) and Bill D. Rosenberger.
He is survived by his daughters, Shanna Rosenberger and Ashley Rosenberger (Matt Bramlett); grandchildren, Liberty Mitchell (Anthony Avendano), Leigha and Gianna Duncan, and Rylan, Kynzlee and Alayah Bramlett; brother, Joe Rosenberger; mother of his daughters, Linda Rosenberger; sister-in-law, Alice Stivers; niece, Zena; his beloved dog, Cash; his Moto Mart Girls, Ike Honda family, and dear friend Brad; along with several cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John L. Rosenberger; grandson, Kaesyn John Bramlett; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Rosenberger and Trisha Cruse.
Jim was a lifelong mechanic, having worked at Lakeland Ford and Marion Toyota, and most recently served as the Service Porter Manager at Ike Honda.
He had a lifelong love of playing pool, a passion he enjoyed since childhood. Jim also loved fishing and, in his younger years, riding his motorcycle. Work was an important part of his life, and he took great pride in what he did. He never knew a stranger and was a good friend to many.
