James “Bo” Albert Robertson, 77, of Carterville, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Bo was born on September 28, 1947, in Herrin, to Howard Clifton and Frances MaryBelle (Mosley) Robertson. He married Rona Ellen Vaughn on December 23, 1966, in Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Robertson; daughter, Lisa Falmier; son, Scott Robertson; grandchildren, Heather McDowell, Erin Robertson, and Garrett Robertson; sister, Barbara Grider; several special nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Romeo.
Bo was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Harris, Mary Adams, and Pat Robertson; and brothers, Cliff, Dick, and Ken Robertson.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded several medals, including two Bronze Stars. After his service, Bo dedicated over 35 years as a welder at Tesa Tape in Carbondale.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing computer games, and trying his luck with the lottery.
