Helen Louise Lantrip

Helen Louise Lantrip, 76, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Helen was born on September 13, 1944, in Bush, to Thomas and Mattie Mildred (Harper) Murray. She married Gary "Pinky" Lantrip on January 26, 1962. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1991.

She is survived by her daughters: Mildred (Michael) Pinkston of Cambria, Mary (Bruce) Burns of Cambria, Helen (Michael) Shepard of Carterville, Tammy McKay of Cambria; 8 grandchildren: Michael Pinkston of Cambria, Jeffrey Pinkston of Johnston City, Brock Burns of West Frankfort, Jenny (Jordan) Johnson of Zeigler, Wes Humphrey of Energy, Brittany Shepard of Carbondale, Mandi Jones of Cambria, Liz Strong of Murphysboro; 8 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Rocky.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sons: Gary, Carl and Jeffrey Lantrip; 2 sisters, Ruby Parini and Barb Murray; brothers, Tommy, Bobby and Johnny Murray.

Helen enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
