Helen D. (Lucas) Allen

Helen Dolores Allen, 94, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2024, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville.

Memorial contributions can be made to Wright-Way Rescue in Murphysboro.

Helen was born February 12, 1930, in Zeigler, to Anna (Stravinski) and Frank Lucas. She married Richard Lee Allen on December 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2001.

She is survived by her friends, Debra Miller and Lois Underwood.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister.

She was a factory worker at Tesa Tape for over 20 years.

Helen took great pride in taking care of her home. She was kind to everyone she met and enjoyed going out to eat, doing word searches, and going to yard and garage sales.
