Harry "Bud" Millard III Obituary

Harry “Bud” Boyd Millard III, 88, of Marion, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion.

Born on December 14, 1936, in Chicago, Bud was the son of Frances Irene (Ward) and Harry Boyd Millard II. He married Elisabeth Anna Sprague on July 19, 1976, in Murphysboro, and together they enjoyed 47 years of marriage.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Elisabeth “Betty” Millard; daughter, Cindy and Ed Claunch; stepson, Douglas and Tara Robinson; grandchildren, Jared and Lindsey Claunch and Grant and Mikhaela Romoser-Claunch; great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Leo, Simon, and Jack; and half-brothers, George and Carol Tregoning and Richard and Roberta Millard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Todd Robinson; half-brother, Bob Millard; and half-sister, Barbara Pope.

Bud was a self-employed contractor and also worked for UPS. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hiking, and enjoyed traveling. He was known as a polite and gentlemanly man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Leukemia Foundation.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
