Glenn Parker Obituary

Glenn Alan Parker, 73, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family and close friends.

He was born May 3, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas, to Glenn George and Constance (Ziemer) Parker. Glenn married Elaine Shelton on October 27, 1979, in Carterville.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Elaine Parker; son, Wyatt (Joanna) Parker and two grandchildren, all of Houston, Texas; and sister, Patricia Parker of Brenham, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sandra Draper.

Glenn was known to most as “Al” and a friend to many through his knowledge and passion for antique collecting, Indian Artifact hunting, landscaping, friendly card games, and the Green Bay Packers.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Honker Hill Winery in rural Carbondale.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
