Glenda Paulette Smith, 70, of Cambria, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Miami, FL 33134.
Glenda was born October 19, 1947, in Cambria, to Marion Orval and Vera M. (Gray) Lantrip. She married Robert Smith on July 17, 1983.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith of Cambria; sons, Jonathan Lee (Teresa) Sullivan of Newalla, Oklahoma and Matthew Gene Sullivan of Herrin; stepsons, Brian Smith of Herrin, Chris (Emily) Echols of Pocahontas, Missouri, and David Smith of Herrin; sisters, Lucille (Erland) Sieren of DeRidder, Louisiana and Brenda Wagoner of Cambria; brothers, John Lantrip of Carterville and Dale Lantrip of Cambria; sisters-in-law, Helen Lantrip and Sharon Lantrip, both of Cambria; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marian Allen, Vickie Mullins Hale, Vera Lantrip, Patricia Miller, and Kathy Ziecker; and brothers, Gary Lantrip and Larry Lantrip.
Glenda retired from Maytag in 1991.
She was member of the Cambria Park Committee and the Maytag Union Committee.
Glenda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
