Gerald “Jerry” Ray Borror, 79, of Herrin, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 10, 1946, in Highland, Illinois, to Arlo and Mary (Shultz) Borror. Jerry married Jeanne Marie Johnson on July 20, 1979, in Morris, Illinois.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Borror; daughter, Jennifer (Dominic) Muscato; son, Kristopher Zink; grandchildren, Kayla, Bella, Joe, Allie, Karleigh, Karter, and Adilynn; brother, Bill (Jo Ruth) Borror; sisters, Carol Miller, Mary Ann Mays, and Beverly Nelson; plus several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marion “Junior” and Donnie Borror.

Jerry honorably served our country in the United States Army.

He worked as a machine operator on the Cincinnati Slitter at Alumax for 20 years, and later spent 15 years in the Powder Department at Eco Lab. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed relaxing with his favorite television shows—especially classic westerns, with John Wayne being a longtime favorite—and he found great enjoyment in completing jigsaw puzzles.

Per Jerry’s wishes, no services will be held.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
