George Lasseter Obituary

George John Lasseter II, 72, of Marion, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Private services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made to A.S.P.C.A or the American Cancer Society.

John was born August 1, 1948, in Harrisburg, to George John and Angie Genevieve (Naugle) Lasseter. He married Jacqueline Ciulla on June 20, 1970, in Park Ridge, Illinois.

He is survived by his son, Damen (Nikki Larson) of Midlothian, Virginia; daughters, Laura Lasseter of Auburndale, Florida and Lisa Lasseter of Carterville; wife, Jackie Lasseter of Carterville; grandchildren, Jaden, Alex, Marilyn, and Charlie; sister, JoAnne (Rocky) Rahn of Springfield; nephews and niece, Doug Rahn, Rick Rahn, and Roxanne Gardner; and several great nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and great-nephew, Ryan Rahn.

He honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

John was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and boating.

He operated Crab Orchard Campground and Gateway Marina and also managed rental properties in the area.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville is in charge of arrangements.
