Evadean Church Obituary

Dietta Evadean “Dard” Church, 90, of Cambria, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. Her one request was that she remain in her home, surrounded by the many memories of our dad and her family.  We are blessed that request and promise was kept.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Church of Cambria, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tn.

She was married to Robert Lee Church on October 26, 1945.  They were married for 58 years before he passed in October 2003.

Evadean is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha (Tom) McGuire of Carterville, Donetta Gaye (Hector) Pancheco of Houston, Texas, and Lynette (Steve) Marble of Duluth, Minnesota; six sons and daughters-in-law, Robbie (Linda) Church of Carterville, Dee (Linda) Church of Carterville, Jeff (Melodie) Church of Carterville, Randy (Patricia) Church of Nixa, Missouri, Lyndell (Annette) Church of Cambria, and Jim (Jill) Church of Bartlett, Tennessee;  one sister, Linda Burris of Energy; sister-in-law, Rosemarry Hall of Energy; brother-in-law, J.R. (Doc) Church of Cambria.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Church; her daughter, Sherry Faye; her son, Bobby, and his wife Sherry; her parents, Evan and Freeda Hall; and her brother, Frank Hall.

Evadean’s full-time job was her family. In her younger years, she kept busy changing diapers, feeding babies, cooking, cleaning, and washing a lot of clothes.  She had help from her mother Freeda “Granny” and her sister, Linda, during this time.  She always made sure on Sunday mornings her children were ready for Church.

Evadean loved her big family and she loved cooking big Sunday meals where everyone would end up after church.  We all had our favorite meals for her to cook, especially after we got older.  One of her favorite pastimes was quilting.  She made plenty of quilts, but made sure all of her grandchildren had one of her special quilts that were made from her loving hands and heart.

Her next love was reading which she started late in life after things slowed down.  She loved reading the Amish Christian stories and many other Christian books, too many to count.  She could start a book one day and have it finished the next.

Her biggest love and the thing she was most proud of, beside her love of the Lord, was her family and her “50” grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren who fondly called her “Mimmie”, seeing them brought a smile and twinkle to her eye: Trisha (Donnie) Hammann, Scott McGuire, Andy (Kim) Church, Shawn (Karee) Church, Todd Doughty, Alison Church, Caitlin (Nathaniel) Snoddy, Carmen (Daryl) Banks, Courtney (Jason) Dunning, Colby Church, Raney (Will) Krev, Cody (Kaitlin) Church, Dylan Church (Ashlee Childers), Ashley (Brian) Smith, Holly (Christopher) Grimet, Keagan (Shanna) Marble, Taylor (Brian) Nystrom, Brianna (Cody) Johnson, Raven (Dalton) Freeman, Sterling Church, and Bridgett Church (Mark Kovacs), Jordan, Kerrigan Norris, (Chris), Shay, Alysia, Kaylee Oakley, (Tyler), Garrett, Griffen, Jackson, Harper, Logan, Ava, Trevor, Cameron, Trenton, Madalyn, Peyton, Reagan Jo, Kenzie Leigh, Anson, Rance, Jeremiah, Lily, Evadean Joy, Lincoln, Delta, Demi, and Deliah; and Josephine and Celceia.

Evadean was a faithful member of the Apostolic Church in Cambria, where she started attending at a very young age, over 80 years. She instilled her faith and love for God in all her family.  She loved her Church family.  She also loved having the big family gatherings, reunions, surround by all her children spending time together, she had us promise they would continue after she was gone, because she would be looking down making sure they would.

She truly was a lovely faithful lady and will be truly missed and cherished by all who knew her, so cherish the ones you love and spread extra hugs for her.
