Elizabeth Jean McPheron, 87, of Energy, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Herrin Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018, at Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville, with Pastor Wyatt George officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Herrin American Legion and V.F.W. Post, Carterville American Legion and Army National Guard Ritual Team.
Elizabeth was born on January 14, 1931, in Carterville, the daughter of Beatrice (Walker) Tanner.
She is survived by her sister, Debbie Tanner of Herrin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice; siblings, Geraldine Hiller, Loralei Tanner, and Tom Tanner.
Elizabeth honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
