Douglas “Doug” Andrew Laczynski, 54, of Carterville, passed away October 13, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home.

Doug was born on June 24, 1968, in Naperville, Illinois to Robert Alan and Julie Ann (Gundberg) Laczynski. He married Kathleen Denise “Kate” Lange on September 7, 1996, in Murphysboro, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Kate Laczynski; son, Colin Andrew Laczynski; daughter, Grace Anne Laczynski; parents, Robert and Julie Laczynski; brother, Darrel and Erin Laczynski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Les and Sue Lange; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laura and Dave Chamness and Les and Erika Lange; nieces, Ally, Gavin, and Marin; nephews, Nolan, Brendan and Burke.
Doug worked as a self-employed Public Adjuster for over 20 years.
Doug loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and loved anything to do with water, especially weekends on the lake with family and friends skiing, surfing, and ‘snacking’. Doug extended a helping hand to anyone who needed it, he loved to help people! Doug will be dearly missed by those that were lucky to know him.
