Dorothy “Dot” Mae Rogers, 92, of Blairsville, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin McNeely officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dorothy was born July 14, 1929, in Bush, to Joe and Nellie (Robinson) Byrley. She married Roland U. Rogers on February 21, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2004.
She is survived by her son, Roland Rogers of Blairsville; daughter Linda (Donald) Kerley of DeSoto; grandchildren, Jane (fiancé, Dean Goldader) Rogers, Sherri (Dallas) Smith, Roland John Rogers, Michelle Krcmar (Jay Futrell), and Michael (Loretta) Krcmar; great-grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jessica Smith, Caleb Futrell, Layne Jones, Lauren Futrell, Maddux Krcmar, Madison Futrell, and Levi Krcmar; sister, Betty Howell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Peggy Lou Rogers; brothers, Charlie, George, Earl, and Johnny; and sisters, infant, Susie Byrley, Grace Odum, Jennie Snyder, Josephine Niven, and Geniva Lloyd.
She had been a factory worker at Western Chain in Chicago for many years.
Dorothy attended the Church of the Nazarene in Murphysboro.
She enjoyed going shopping and taking little trips with her family. Dorothy loved her Lord and family dearly.
