Doris Jean (Beshears) Vaughn

Doris Jean Vaughn, 88, of Cambria, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at her home.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Blairsville Cemetery, with Rev. Donnie Colson officiating.

Doris was born June 13, 1933, in Cambria, to Guy Ambrose and Florence Charity (Allsup) Beshears.  She married Thomas Myers, and he preceded her in death in 1956.  She later married Charles Edward Vaughn, and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1983. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl House of Cambria; sons, Charlie Vaughn of Cambria, Kenneth Vaughn of Cambria, John Vaughn of Cambria, and Ronnie Vaughn of Anna; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Barbara (Edward) Reed of Cambria; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Buster. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and one great-grandchild.

Doris worked as an in-home caregiver for many people around the area. She had also worked for Olin and Nutrition Headquarters. 

She was of the Apostolic faith who loved flowers, was an animal lover, and enjoyed watching birds out of her window. Her family was her greatest joy and Doris was always trying to do things to support them and put smiles on their faces.
