Delbert R. Allen

Delbert R. Allen, 82, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020, in Carterville.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Blairsville Cemetery, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.  Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Delbert was born May 29, 1937, in Carbondale, to Carl and Grace (Tanner) Allen.  He married Ruth Ann McEntire on June 28, 1980, in Sunnyside.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Allen of Carterville; son, Tom (Carla) Allen, of Carterville; daughter, Darla (John) Judd, of Bush; six grandchildren, Jennifer Allen,        Chris (Christy) Bloodworth, Jamy King, Angela (Josh) Bartlow, Wesley Judd (Morgan Davis), Shayna (Holly) Judd; six great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Jimmie (Joyce) McEntire.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Allen.

Delbert worked as a Cement Driver for Odum Concrete in Marion for 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing, music, playing cards, playing pool, and going to shooting matches.

Delbert attended the First Baptist Church in Carterville.
