Deanna Kaye Tucker, 61, of Carbondale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at home, with her family by her side.

She was born in Herrin, Illinois, to Patricia Johnson on March 26, 1963. Deanna married Jerry Tucker on November 27, 1984, in Blytheville, Arkansas. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Deanna is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Tucker; daughter, Jennifer Tucker; son, Jacob (Sarah) Tucker; mom, Patricia Smirnes; grandchildren, Kylie and Joseph Tucker, Tucker Peairs, Jensen Peairs, Loralei Peairs, Olevia Owens; sisters, Donna Tovar and Teresa Brown; brothers, David Dickson and Rick (Theresa) Tucker; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph David Tucker; grandparents, Harvey and Louetta Johnson; uncle, Charlie Johnson; mother-in-law’s, Mary Dickson and Lynnie Ray Tucker; brothers-in-law, Keith Brown and Michael Tucker; sister-in-law, Shirley Birdwell; niece, Michelle Tovar.

Deanna was loved by everyone she met, as she never met a stranger. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband, kids, grandchildren, and a house full of love and laughter.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
