Darlena Sue (Cox) Beers

Darlena Sue Cox - Beers, 76, of Cambria, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Shawnee Senior Living Center in Herrin.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, at Lipe Cemetery in Makanda, with Pastor Janet Lindsay officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family to help offset expenses.

Darlena was born August 23, 1947, in Grantsburg, Illinois, to Walter and Dorris (Nance) Cox. She married Marty Ray Beers on July 29, 2010, Sevierville, Tennessee.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marty Beers; son, Jared (Lisa) Cox; granddaughter, Hailee R. Cox; beloved dogs, Mickey, Scooter, and CoCo; plus many extended family.

Darlena was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jason Cox; and brothers, Jake Cox and Bobby Lee Klump.

She was a talented piano player, singer, and songwriter. Darlena sang with several area Gospels groups over the years.

Darlena was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She along with her husband, Marty, belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association, and enjoyed going on rides.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Hailee.
