Daniel Ray Tennyson

Daniel Ray Tennyson, 79, of Carterville, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Cambria Christian Church, with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to C-3 Youth at Cambria Christian Church.

Daniel was born on May 9, 1946, in Peoria, to Carl Ezra and Roxie Maxine (Parkhill) Tennyson. He married Diane Adele Dahnert on June 1, 1969, in Oakland, California. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2025.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbi Tripp, Donna (Brian) Shotton, and Kelly (Greg) Seng; grandchildren, Austin (Linzi Sweetin) Tripp, Autumn (Alex) Adkins, Orion (Ayaka) Shotton, Meris (Daniel) Avila, Alayna Seng, and Zoey Seng; great-granddaughter, Audrey Adkins; brothers, Timothy (Louise) Tennyson, and Carl Delano Tennyson.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Sandra Gail; and an infant sister.

He honorably served our country in the United States Navy.

Daniel was a dedicated dental lab technician for over 55 years and the proud owner and operator of Tennyson Dental Lab. For the past 15 years, he worked in the dental lab at the VA, continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others. A faithful member of Cambria Christian Church, Daniel found joy in the outdoors and took great pride in caring for his yard. Above all, his family was his greatest joy.
