Robert Dale Morris, 68, of rural Cambria, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 29, 2022, at his home, with his family by his side. He was welcomed home by his wife, Johna; parents, Orval and Jewell Morris; brother, Leon Morris; grandson, Lil Eric; and his best buddies, Claude and Muttly.
Dale was born July 22, 1954, and grew up working the family farm with his dad. He married Wendy Jane Parola in 1972, and from that union, they were blessed with two daughters. He later married Johna Dean Robinson in 1977, and together they enjoyed 42 years together until her passing in 2019.
Dale spent his life doing what he loved-raising cattle. He worked to support that passion, driving trucks, farming, and eventually retiring from Walker’s Bluff.
Dale was good with his hands and liked to tinker out in his garage. He loved 4-wheeling, camping, and just being outdoors. He never knew a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Dale instilled a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren, leading by example on their farm.
His quiet, yet strong presence left its mark in so many lives.
He leaves behind his daughters, Peri (Sandra) Morris and Keri (Crystal) Morris; grandchildren, Will (Jessayca) Hardy and Sly (Kristin) Hardy; great-grandchildren, Myah and Mason Hardy; sister, Norma Cheatham; special friend, Debbie Shelton; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are preferred and can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (or Dementia Research) or to an animal shelter of your choice.
Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with arrangements.
