Connie Maxine Bennett, 79, of rural Marion, Illinois, last living in Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Bayfront Hospital in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Connie believed in being kind to others, working with excellence, and loving her family of which she did all with excellence. She said, “You never know what someone else is going through so always be kind.” She was ALWAYS thoughtful of others, showing them respect and kindness. She gave the best hugs in the world and is a great encourager. She demonstrated sacrificial love to her family giving always. She lived a quality of life that enhanced others and will be remembered. To know her and love her is an honor.
Connie was preceded in passing by her parents, Nolan & Novelenne Bennett; her brother, Kenneth Bennett; and nephew Kevin Bennett.
She was born on September 8, 1942, in Galesburg, Illinois, the first-born daughter of Nolan and Novelenne Bennett.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Smith, grandsons, Seth Smith and Levi Smith, and granddaughter, Rachel Smith, all residing in Texas; sister, Terry Serpico, and nephew, Michael Serpico who reside in Punta Gorda, Florida; nephew, Eric Bennett and niece, Kender Crow of Herrin, Illinois; plus other extended family and friends.
Connie retired from a successful career in the Boat Industry with industry leaders such as: Crown Line, Mark Taiwan, and Shamrock. She was a Fiberglass expert following in the steps of her father, Nolan.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11th, 2021, at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.
