Christine “Chris” Stephanie Adelitzo, 81, of West Frankfort, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Born on June 7, 1944, in Chicago, Christine lived a life filled with dedication, loved, and joy.
Christine worked at Progress Port Recycling Center in Carterville, where she shredded paper with unwavering commitment. Her strong work ethic was evident as she rose each weekday morning to fulfill her responsibilities and earn her living. She was deeply cherished by her friends at Progress Management INC.
Christine found happiness in simple pleasures like attending baseball and football games, crafting, visiting the outdoors, and indulging in shopping.
Christine brought laughter and light to those around her. She especially enjoyed dining out and sharing moments of joy with her family and friends.
A woman of faith, Christine attended Glad Tidings Apostolic Church in West Frankfort. Christine’s heart was full of love for those closest to her.
She shared a special bond with her longtime companion, Michael Hosick, of West Frankfort. Her family and friends meant everything to her; she treasured the time spent joking and creating memories with them.
She is survived by her sister, June (Ron) Swanson; brother, Frankie Adelitzo; all of her beloved family and friends from Progress Management; and countless friends who were touched by her kindness and vibrant personality throughout the community.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Francis A. and Marie (Badali) Adelitzo; sisters, Virginia Marie Adelitzo and Diane Luebben; as well as other cherished loved ones who undoubtedly welcomed her home with open arms.
Christine’s legacy is one of hard work, laughter, love for others, and a life well-lived. May the memory of her radiant spirit bring comfort to all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort, with Pastor Rodney Briscoe officiating.
