Chelsea Faye Alderman, 36, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her parents’ home, surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Matt Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to a College Education Fund for the children.
Chelsea was born February 16, 1988, in Carbondale, to Michael Lee and Janet Faye (Schafer) Cloe. She married Daniel Jameson Alderman on September 6, 2020, in Carterville.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Alderman; children, Amaya Alderman, Rylan Bushno, Preslie Murray, and Alyza Alderman; parents, Mike and Janet Cloe; sisters, Amy (Rick) Casey and Lori (Matt) Brown; brothers, David and Keith Cloe; in-laws, Kavin (Cindy) Alderman and Donna (Don) Sheffer; paternal grandmother, Rosemary Cloe; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as her beloved softball families and host of friends.
Chelsea was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather; aunts, Carolyn Nohren and Karen Woodard; cousin, Sarah Sweeney; and close friend, Keith Harrup.
A devoted animal lover, Chelsea worked at Troop Vet Clinic as a veterinary assistant and technician for many years. She rescued and fostered over 100 animals, primarily dogs.
Chelsea was a member of First Christian Church in Carterville. Her family was her greatest joy, and she particularly cherished watching her daughter play sports. As a "Wrestling Coach's wife," Chelsea developed a love-hate relationship with the sport.
