Charles "Wink" R. Snyder

Charles R. "Wink" Snyder, 77, of Royalton, passed Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Charles was born on July 2, 1942, in Royalton, to Lenora Moss.  He married Marsha D. Freeman on August 20, 1977, in Energy.  She preceded him in death on February 4, 2010. 

He is survived by daughters, Kimberly Milner (David "Boo" Guill), Cindy Peters, and Tara Snyder-Holland; grandchildren, Brent Milner, Alex Milner, Garrett Peters, Meghan Holland, and Emma Holland; niece, Ramonita Reyes; and special friend, Tom Jarvis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenora; wife, Marsha; and sister, Roberta. 

Charles honorably served our country in the U.S. Army as a sharpshooter. 

He worked at Allen Industries for over 28 years and retired in 2006, from Special Mine Services in West Frankfort. 

He was a member of the Royal Shack in Royalton. 

He enjoyed going hunting, fishing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
