Charles E. Ward Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Edgar Ward Jr., 60, of Marion, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Deaconess Hospital in Marion.

Chuck was born on May 4, 1964, in Osceola, Arkansas, to Charles E. and Johnnie May (Jacobs) Ward Sr.  He was married to Jackie Ward for 26 years.

He is survived by Jackie Ward; daughters, Somer Ward and Beth Ward; brothers, John Crites and Barry Ward; grandchildren, Kailee Ward, Kloee Ward, Damon Ward, Madison Ward, Jaxxon Kelly, and Hadlee and Rylee Whittle; several nieces and nephews; and several dear friends, including special friend, “Cool Wood”.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Dennis Crites Sr.; brother, Dennis Crites Jr.; sister, Donna Jacobs; and son, Brandon Ward.

He had been a semi-truck driver and had recently driven for RMS Trucking.

Chuck enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and tinkering in his yard.

A celebration of life, hosted by his family, will be held at a later date.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
