Cecil Ray McCormick, 67, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.

Cecil was born February 9, 1953, in Scott County, Missouri, to William Henry and Itell Isophene (Mills) McCormick. He married Jami Lynn Melear in 1984, in Bellevue, Florida. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2015.
He is survived by his daughters, Heather (Cody) McCluskey, Pam McCormick and Laura (Lee) Jones; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 12 siblings; father-in-law, Kenneth Melear; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; wife; mother-in-law, Jaqueline Melear; step-daughter, Jennifer Hoppe; and 2 sisters.
He worked as an auto mechanic who also specialized in tires.
Cecil was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing.
He was an avid fisherman.
