Catherine Holder Obituary

Catherine Sue Holder, 71, of Zeigler, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Larry Hallman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday.   

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Catherine was born on June 26, 1949, in Buckner, Illinois, to Dan and Viola (Munbar) Collins.  She married Ronald Eugene Holder on November 17, 1981, in Cambria. 

She is survived by her husband Ron Holder of Zeigler; sons, Ron Holder Jr. of Zeigler, and Chris Holder of Centralia; sister, Joyce London of Vancouver, Washington; and brother, Donald Collins of Collinsville. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Catherine was a Bus Driver with the Zeigler School District for over 15 years.

She enjoyed doing needle point in her spare time.  Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family.
