Carol Frey

Carol Frey, 77, of Energy, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at Herrin Hospital surrounded by her kids.

Visitation will begin after 6:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.  A private family burial will be held at a later date. 

Memorial contributions in her memory, can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. 

Carol was born on February 9, 1946, in Chicago, to Floyd and June (Pullium) Myers.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Jim) Sullivan; son, Kevin Frey; grandchildren, Mickenzie (Korey) Devening, Dakota (Rose) Wade, Kodiak Frey, bonus grandson, Jake (Katie) Sullivan; great grandson, Vince Devening, bonus great grandchildren, Cooper and Lakelyn Sullivan; sister, Margie (Dennis) McCree; sister-in-law, Barb Myers; nieces and nephews, Gary (Trudy) McCree, Cheryl McCree (Paul Henry), Allen (Beth) McCree, and Dayna (Jay) Will. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Myers.

Carol worked on the dryer line at Maytag for over 17 years and then owned and operated Flight 148 for over 10 years. 

Carol was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, who also enjoyed going boating and playing dice games with her sister and brother-in-law every Friday night. The most important thing in Carol’s life was her family.
