Billie Golda Hicks, 99, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Stonebridge Nursing Home in Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Daryl Varble officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Residential Hospice.
Billie was born on December 14, 1925, in Bush, to Henry and Nellie (Pitts) Riley. She married Roy Otis Henry and he preceded her in death in 1990. She later married Curits L. Hicks on May 7, 1992, in Paducah, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathie (Gene) Turner; granddaughter, Becky (Abel) Salazar; great-granddaughter, Isabella Salazar.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Roger Henry; and sister, Henrietta Miller.
A devoted homemaker, Billie was a longtime member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She was a talented crocheter, loved music—especially the Bee Gees and Tony Orlando—and never missed a chance to dance with her friends.
Her warmth, creativity, and joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
