Betty Lynn Mitchell, 64, of Carterville, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.

Betty was born February 26, 1956, in St. Louis, to Lorene Wells. She married Robert Eric Mitchell on September 25, 1982, in West Frankfort.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Mitchell of Carterville; daughters, Christa Mitchell of Carbondale and Tara Mitchell of Crainville; grandchildren, Arron Stapleton, Lane Sykes, Haley Grant, and Abby Dennis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother.
She worked at the Subway in Herrin for over 18 years.
Betty's favorite color was purple and she loved to listen to music. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandkids.
