BENJAMIN LEWIS KOMNICK

Ben Komnick, 72, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away in Carterville, Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Ben was born in Springfield, Illinois, to Ben and Ruth Komnick. They preceded him in death.

Survivors include his siblings: Norman (Joyce) Komnick of Lakewood, Washington, Judith Riggert of Metamora, Illinois, John (Jeanne) Komnick of Havana, Illinois, and twin, Janet Deal of Vero Beach, Florida. Ben loved farm life and all things mechanical. He retired from SIU Automotive Technology Department as an instructor.

Heartfelt thank-yous to friends and family who donated funds, visited Ben’s bedside, installed a car engine, reworked his van’s transmission, cared for his cat, mowed Ben’s lawn, provided reliable transportation to treatments, gave continual prayer support, built a wheelchair ramp, sent cards & letters, and so many other acts of love and kindness that would fill volumes. All these acts to return the love and appreciation Ben has shown to so many.
