Ashley Kay (Wiseman) Mize

Ashley Kay Mize, 49, of Herrin, departed this life on February 18, 2025, in the arms of her Savior, with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with MS.

She was born on March 12, 1975, in Carbondale, to Vicki Vaughn and Don Wiseman.

Ashley loved people and never met a stranger. She loved to work and did so until she was no longer able to.

Ashley loved music and dancing, yard sales, BINGO, animals, and most of all family.

She leaves behind her son, Julian Mize; mother, Vicki Bishop; father, Don (Kelly) Wiseman; paternal grandmother, Shirley Absher; sisters, Lesley (Adrian) Clover and Dana Wiseman; uncles and aunts, Danny (Wanda) Hewlett, Mark (Cindy) Provo, Mike (Nancy) Bullard, John (Sandy) Vaughn, Lynola Hovenga, Joy Horn, and Barb (Lucky) Logan; plus many nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; paternal grandfather; adopted father, Brad Palmer; adopted grandparents; step-father, Barry Bishop; brother, Michael Wiseman; niece, Natalie Pender; cousin, Greg Bullard; and her beloved cat, Tigger.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
