Anna Josephine McLaughlin

Our beloved mother, grandmother, Babci, and aunt, Anna Josephine McLaughlin, 91, of Clearwater, Florida, and formerly of Carterville, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, Florida.

She was born June 25, 1929, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Victoria (Fischer) Bartlewski. Anna married Thomas F. McLaughlin on January 5, 1947, in St. Hedwig's Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Survivors include her daughter, Patti Schumacher; granddaughters, Dominique Schimpf and Sara Schumacher; grandson, Hank Schumacher; great-grandsons, Connor and Carson Harris, and Dylan Szmyglewski; and great granddaughter, Maya Szmyglewska.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Thomas J. McLaughlin; and siblings, Vic, Cas and Joe Bartlewski, Agnes Carroll, Mary Sinclair, and Celia Yanacone.  

She was a strong woman who taught her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter how to be strong independent women. She passed on her sarcastic wit and sense of humor as well. She loved us all with her whole heart, and if you were her friend she was kind and generous to a fault. But we know she longed to return to her spiritual home, especially in recent days. We will miss her dearly.

Family will hold services at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt County, Kansas, at a later date.
