Amy Lucille Long, 84, of Cambria, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2020, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Donnie Colson officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Amy was born September 21, 1935, in Obion County, Tennessee, to Barnett and Lou Ellen (Oakley) Beasley. She married Clarence "Doodle" Long on November 17, 1950, in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Lee Long of DeSoto, Patricia Ann (Mike) Graeff of Carterville, Clarence Wendell "Pete" Long of Royalton, and Barbara Ann (Keith) Boze of Carterville; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Nicks of Newbern, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Malcolm Beasley, Eugene Beasley, Claude Beasley, Lloyd Beasley, Thelma Diggs, and Mary Lee Wright; and grandson, Michael Alyn Boze.
She was a devout Christian and faithful member of the Church of God in Carbondale.
Amy was a talented quilter who also made beautiful sewn items as well as embroidery work. She enjoyed gardening, canning and going fishing. Most of all, Amy loved spending time with her family.
