Alice Lorraine Messer, 79, of Elkville, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025, at Elkville Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Penson officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Alice was born on February 25, 1946, in Herrin, to Daton and Clara Louise (Vaughn) Howerton. She married Curtis Lee Messer on October 8, 1983, in Elkville. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Hunt; step-sons, Curtis Burton Messer and Bob Messer; grandchildren, Roxanne, Madison, Jeannetta, Christopher, and Trevor; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Malston.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jenny Sizemore; step-son, Jim Messer; and sisters, Ina Burgess and Donna Lempke.
She was a cook at Norge and had worked at Penne’s Frame Shop.
A faithful member of Knoff Bend Pentecostal Church, Alice’s strong faith and kindness touched the lives of many. In her free time, she found joy in watching television, especially game shows, detective shows, and the weather channel.
