Theresa Julia (Kristobak) Donavich

Theresa Julia Donavich, 89, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, with Fr.Charles officiating. Burial will be in San Carlo Cemetery  in Herrin. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 16, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.

Theresa was born on January 8, 1929, in Trotter, Pennsylvania, to Vincent and Pearl (Grabski) Kristobak. She married John Donavich on June 24, 1950, in Leisenring, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John Donavich of Carterville; son, Donald Donavich; daughter, Rita (David) Smith; and brothers, Henry Kristobak and Joseph Kristobak.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda; and brothers, Ted and Gregory; and her beloved dogs, Skipper and Tiger.

She worked as a bookkeeper for a bank for over 20 years.

Theresa served her community and others by volunteering at the Veteran's Hospital and at the Carterville Community United Pantry for over 25 years.
