Ruby Troutt Obituary

Ruby Bonita Troutt, 96, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, at her home.

She was born November 11, 1923, in Vienna, to Martin Luther and Bertha (Axley) Anderson. Ruby married Joseph Allen Troutt in Piggott, Arkansas, in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Ruby is survived by her son, Dale Troutt of Carterville; daughter, Allyn Joyce Troutt of Fairfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Sonya Troutt, Shane Thompson, Stacey Fairchild-Cecil, Emmy Auge, Austin Troutt, Evan Troutt, Caitlin Troutt; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Darrell and Vernon Anderson.

Ruby worked at the Southern Illinoisan as a proof reader, reporter and as an editor. She also worked at the HUD Office in Zeigler.

She owned and operated European Tanning Salon in Carterville for over 30 years.

Ruby was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals who never met a stranger.
