Ruby Irene (Maze) Tregoning

Ruby Irene Tregoning, 85, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019, in Carterville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Michael Williams officiating. Burial will be in Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday.

Memorial contributions can be made MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston or to Alzheimer's Association.

Ruby was born June 11, 1934, in Goreville, to Athol and Ruie (Hudson) Maze. She married Philip Tregoning on April 23, 1953, in Carterville. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Tregoning (Robert "Bob" English) of Carterville; son, Philip (Cheryl) Tregoning of Athens, Alabama; grandchildren, Tatum Tregoning English, Avery Tregoning English and Philip Jack Thomas Tregoning; sisters, Ida Bollinger of Energy, Barbara Harris of Carterville, Imogene (Roger) Swift of Lutz, Florida; and brother-in-law, Ray Tregoning. 

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers-in-law, Jim Bollinger and Larry Harris.

In 2000, Ruby retired as an Aviation and Healthcare Instructor with the College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

She was member of First Christian Church in Carterville.

Ruby enjoyed traveling but most importantly spending time with her family.
