Ruby was born May 25, 1920, in Woodbury, Illinois, to Charles and Carrie (Saunders) Kingery.  She married Grant Ellet on October 27, 1942, in Perryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in June 1981.

Ruby is survived by her son, Mike (Judy) Ellet of Herrin; daughters, Jackie Ronnebeck of Metropolis and Nancy (Michael) Ford of Swansea; son-in-law, John McNeil of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughters-in-law, Janice Ellet of Carterville and Gail Ellet of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sister, Eileen Edwards of Fayetteville, North Carolina; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; dear friend and "special son", Jorge Lujane of Champagne, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and lots of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Ellet; sons, Charles, Jim, Larry, and infant son, Rodney Wayne Ellet; daughter, Monabelle Pack; granddaughter, Lori Ronnebeck; and brothers, Lester, Thurman and Wayne Kingery.

Ruby was best known for her love of God, family and “bling”. She was always dressed beautifully. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a bit of a practical joker, loved to dress for Halloween, loved to give out chocolate candy, loved playing cards and always had a smile for everyone.  In her younger years, she loved cooking for huge gatherings with spaghetti & meat balls (her families' favorite), pies and homemade bread. Ruby had a gift for making people feel special and loved.

She will be greatly missed, but we have the blessed assurance that we will see her again at the wonderful gathering in Heaven.

Ruby was a lifetime member of Hope Chapel Methodist Church in Colp.
