Robert "Jay" Tippy Jr., 60, of Herrin, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Jay was born on January 1, 1959, in Herrin, to Robert "Bob" Lavern and Shirley Fay (Neibel) Tippy.

He is survived by his fiancée and companion for 24 years, Debbie Collins of Herrin; mother, Shirley Tippy of Carterville; brother, Rocky Tippy of Herrin; sister, Tammy (Doug) Crosley of Carterville; step-daughter, Tina Monteith of Marion; step-son, Jason (Jenny) Monteith of Herrin; grandchildren, Kyra, Christopher, Gracie, Faith, Logan, and Hope; nieces and nephews, Rane, Kirby and Cody Crosley, and Scott and Caitlin Tippy.

Jay was preceded in death by his father.

He worked as a landscaper for Plantscape Nursery in Herrin for over 30 years.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
