Cambria - Mildred P. Lamb, 98, of Cambria, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Shawnee Christian Village in Herrin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Glenn Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Department at Shawnee Christian Village.
Mildred was born on August 4, 1919, in Cambria, to Howard and Chlora (Keys) Hagler. She married Raleigh McCluskey in 1936 and together they had a son, Gary. She then married John Early in 1944 and together they had two children, Stella and John; he preceded her in death in 1951. She later married Orlin Lamb in 1958 and he preceded her in 1991.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Sally) McCluskey of Carterville and John (Sherry) Early of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter, Stella (Dewey) Hammonds of Carterville; brother, Earl (Germaine) Hagler of Carterville; grandchildren, Raleigh (Charlotte) McCluskey of Mt. Vernon, Eric McCluskey of Evansville, Indiana, Kim (Mike) Monje of Carterville, Jennifer (Andrew) Suthard of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Huntar (Josh) Lee of DeSoto, Sydney Monje of Carterville and Jordan Schaefer of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Wayne and Carl Hagler; and grandson, Keith Hammonds.
Along with her husband, Orlin, Mildred owned and operated the Colonial Café at the Carterville Crossroads. She later retired from J.C. Penny after many years of service.
Mildred was a member of Crainville Baptist Church.
She was a gifted quilter.
