Maryln Sue Corley

Carterville - Maryln S. Corley, 77, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Herrin Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Maryln was born on June 15, 1940, in Carterville, to Freeman Lee and Iva Lee (Bloodworth) Greer. She married Larry Lee Corley on November 23, 1991, in Carterville. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Mike) Smith of Leesburg, Va., George King Jr. of Stephens City, Va., Michael (Karen) King of Berryville, Va., and David (Andrea) King of Stephen City, Va.; step-children, Doug, Todd and Keith Corley; grandchildren, Crystal Smith of Sterling, Va., Andrew Michael Smith of Leesburg, Va., Shawn Michael Vick and Corey Devin Vick, both of Red Bank, Tenn., Zachary Curtis King of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Kyle Garrett King of Abingdon, Va., Kevin Michael (Tiffany) King of Abingdon, Va., and Joshua Nathaniel (Kristin) King of Winchester, Va.; step-grandchildren, Taylor, Dane, Caitlin, and Chase; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild; and brother, Freeman Lee Greer Jr. of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.

Maryln was preceded in death by her parents; twin infant sons, Gary and Barry; grandson, Matthew King; brother, Leon Greer; and sisters, Maxine Tomlinson and Evelyn Grimes.

She was an administrative assistant for the Office of the State’s Attorney in Atwood for several years. Maryln was also an Avon salesperson.

Maryln was an avid reader.
