Lowell D. "Dink" Lear, 85, of Marion, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
He was born October 17, 1933, in Marion, to Frank and Maxine (Howard) Lear. Lowell married Billee Dean Ozment on March 31, 1956, in Marion. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2018. Together they had shared 62 wonderful years.
Lowell is survived by his sister-in-law, Genevieve McMillan of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billee Dean Lear; sister, Lois Krivanko; and brother, Gary Lear.
Lowell was a member of the First Church of God in Herrin.
He retired after 25 years of service as a machinist for Fabick Caterpillar in Marion.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of God in Herrin Building Fund.
Memorial services for both Lowell and Billee will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the First Church of God in Herrin, with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the church.
Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville assisted the family with cremation services.
