Lloyd Ray Hernbeck

Lloyd Ray Hernbeck, 91, of Cambria, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Helia Healthcare in Energy.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Rev. David Dyer officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Cambria Food Pantry.

Lloyd was born on November 7, 1927, in Herrin, to William and Myrtle (Sizemore) Hernbeck Sr. He married Laura J. Hock on September 29, 1949, in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2005.

He is survived by his brother, Don Hernbeck of Marion; nieces, Georgia (Jim) Rowland of Cambria and Pam (Bob) Underwood of Herrin plus numerous additional nieces and nephews;  and several great nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, William "Bill" and Robert "Bob" Hernbeck; sisters, Ina Sanders, Beulah "Boots" Rushing, Louise Hernbeck, Lillian Hernbeck, and Eloise Hernbeck.

He retired after 25 years as a laborer for Simmons Construction Company in Carbondale.

Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville is in charge of arrangements.
