June E. Hogg

June Eunice Hogg, 97, of Colp, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at Helia Healthcare in Energy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Rev. Ralph Brandon and Pastor Jim Heaney officiating. Burial will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Gum Drops or to Special Olympics.

June was born June 21, 1922, in Elkville, to Tinsley and Ellen Mabel (Gossett) Walker, but was raised by her dad, George Hogg.  On August 7, 1943, she married Hubert Hogg in Herrin. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2005.

She is survived by her sister, Doris O'Daniell of Colp and several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Walker; sister, Imogene Spiller; brothers-in-law, Dewey O'Daniell and Paul Spiller; and sister-in-law, Ludene Walker.

After 8 years of service, June retired from the Post Office in Colp. She had also worked for Sangamon Electric over 15 years. June was an In-Home Healthcare Aid for several years as well.

June was a faithful member of Hope United Methodist Church in Colp.
