Carterville - Judith “Jody” Anne Spaniol, 77, of Carterville, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Herrin Hospital.
She was born on July 18, 1940, in Chicago, to Vincent John and Yolanda (Komives) Zamis.
She is survived by her friends and neighbors, and beloved animals.
Jody worked at SIUC as a clerical secretary for more than 20 years.
She was a devout Christian who had attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Jody was also a faithful follower of TCT.
Jody truly loved animals and gained such joy from helping animals.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Animal Care in Murphysboro.
