Helen June Severs

Helen June Severs, 79, of Cambria, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville with the Rev. R.H. Chitwood officiating.  Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Helen was born on June 21, 1940 in Williamson County, IL, to Richard and Pearl (Jones) Akins. She married Delbert Leo Severs on November 29, 1957.

She is survived by her husband, Leo Severs of Cambria; son, Jeffrey (Donna) Severs of Cambria; grandsons, J.D. Severs of Nashville, IL and Brandon (Natalie) Lantrip of Middleville, MI; granddaughter, Jennifer (Don) Rector of Springfield, IL; brother, Billie Akins of Cambria; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Lantrip; sister-in-law, Linda (Ron) Betteron of Hendersonville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Ricky Lee Severs.

She worked at Lequatte Drug Store in Herrin for over 14 years.

Helen enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, but the joy of her life was her family.
