Carterville - Encarna “Jonie” Williams, 89, of Carterville, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Helia Healthcare in Energy.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Pastor Michael Williams officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jonie was born on December 15, 1928, in Barcelona, Spain, to Diego and Anita (Barnus) Sanchez.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Williams of Carterville and Mark Williams of Marion; grandchildren, Samantha Williams-Long and Maria Williams; great-grandchildren, Angel Williams-Toms, Bella Williams-Toms, KayeLynn Williams-Long, Nicholas Williams-Long, Zachary Shadowens, Peyton Shadowens.
Jonie was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert “Bert” Williams; and brothers, Pedro and Diego Sanchez.
She was a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn in Marion for many years.
