Hurst - Eleanor Mary Biley, 90, of Hurst, passed Monday, January 15, 2018, at her son’s home in Moody, Alabama.
Private family services will be held.
She was born on December 31, 1927, in Chicago, to Alec and Mimi Johnson. Eleanor married George Biley on December 7, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2008.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Joe (Susie) Biley of Moody, Alabama, George (Susan) Biley of Hurst, Larry (Sandy) Biley of Stonefort, and Nancy (Don) Powers of Madison, North Carolina; grandchildren, Craig (Tina) Piper, Shelly Ross, Kimberly (Victor) Fernades, Laurie Powers, Eddie (Cathy) Powers, Donna (Mike) Key, Eric (Amy) Biley, Jennifer (Nick) Coulter, Andrea Biley (Chris Bennet), Lisa (Jeff) Berry, Nicki (John) Eggemeyer, Stephanie (Kory) Shute, Elizabeth (Nathan) Bird, and Tommy Carpenter; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley Ann Robinson; and brother, Leonard Johnson.
Eleanor worked as a seamstress at Smoler Brothers for over 20 years.
She belonged to the Hurst Methodist Church where her passion was teaching Sunday school. Eleanor was devout in her faith, having read the Bible regularly.
She loved the Lord and her family and always had a warm smile towards everyone.
Eleanor enjoyed having picnics outside. She had plenty of hugs and kisses to spare for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She truly treasured life and each moment it brought. Eleanor was known for her great sense of humor and her singing. Her favorite song to sing was, “Be Good to Your Mother”.
