Carterville
Earl R. Hagler, 90, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Community of Faith Church in Marion, with Rev. Dr. Troy D. Benitone officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community of Faith Church.
Earl was born January 14, 1928, in Cambria, to Howard and Chlora (Keys) Hagler. He married Rose Marie Peebles on June 25, 1951, and she preceded him in death on October 7, 1972. He later married Germaine Graves on October 14, 1978, in West Frankfort.
He is survived by his wife, Germaine Hagler of Carterville; sons, Danny Hagler, Victor L. Hagler and Loren (Cindy) Graves; grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Bahde, Shannon Hagler, Andrea (Tom) Dreesen, Victor (Amanda) Hagler II, and Brent (Lynn) Graves; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jordan and Anthony; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Gary (Sally) McCluskey, who was more like a brother to Earl.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rose Hagler; daughter, Andrea "Andi" Hagler Bahde; brothers, Victor Wayne and Carl Hagler; sister, Mildred Lamb; and granddaughter, Amy Bahde.
He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army.
Earl was an electrician who worked out of the IBEW 702 in West Frankfort.
He was a faithful member of Community of Faith Church who helped build the church.
Earl loved helping people and working around his house.
